Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages to promote independence and fulfillment through participation in meaningful activities (occupations). By examining and analyzing activities that a child participates in daily, such as eating, basic self care, functioning in a classroom or at home with family members, an Occupational therapist can provide opportunities and techniques to develop skills utilized to promote self-sufficiency.

Evaluation and Treatment
The Occupational Therapy evaluation includes a collection of information from multiple assessments, records and interviews to gather a comprehensive view of the child’s abilities and skills. From the analysis and interpretation of this information an individualized treatment plan is developed.

Treatment is then provided in a structured manner with emphasis on developing skills and abilities to promote meaningful engagement in everyday life.

Individual sessions in the kitchen teaching basic cooking and executive functioning skills are offered. Skills taught would include following a recipe, kitchen safety, focus and attention, problem solving, working memory, organization, time management, flexible thinking, planning, following directions, shifting attention, and managing sensory concerns. These sessions would take place in the clients home and follow the hourly rate.
